The second SynBio World Cafe „What stops the SynBio revolution in Germany?“ organised by the German Association for Synthetic Biology (GASB e.V) with support of the Hightech-Forum, will take place on the 9th of July, 2020 10am – 6pm. Due to the current global pandemic and regulation it will take place as a virtual SynBio World Cafe.

Nevertheless, we are convinced that the alternative setting will allow a comparable level of engagement and activity as the previous SynBio World Cafe did.

Synthetic Biology is a thriving research field that aims to provide biological solutions to the most pressing global issues of the 21st century. Globally, as well as in Germany, groundbreaking research is performed that is pushing for implementation into products. Even though the German Government announced a new Bioeconomy strategy – we are lacking behind the commercialization of SynBio research compared to other countries. The obvious questions are: What stops the SynBio Revolution in Germany? How can we change the status quo towards our benefit? The backbone of the future bioeconomy is today’s SynBio Startups.

This year the SynBio World Cafe focuses the Startup activities asking the question:

What stops the SynBio revolution in Germany?

Discussing hurdles, obstacles, and bottlenecks that come with founding a new synbio company as well as steering an already existing one towards success. For that, the event brings together stakeholders from academia, industry, and legislation to discuss ideas and foster new relationships and discussions! Even in the digital format, we want to ensure active discussion and therefore have only limited number of participants.

Please register as participant!

The registration is straight froward and requires only a few minutes, including some questions that we would like to use as a kick off for discussions.
