Why worry about data management when you are starting up a biotech?

In this Lunch & Learn Dr. Mariana Vaschetto from Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD), will talk about Lab Data Management for Biotechs with the following topics:

  • Starting on the right foot
  • Common challenges
  • Getting data management right from the beginning
  • Start with the end in mind: Integration, New Candidates, Investment
  • Building your Company Data Ecosystem
  • Creating your Company Partner Ecosystem
  • Virtual Data Room: Due Diligences

Dr. Mariana Vaschetto did her Ph.D. in Chemistry in Quantum Chemistry. She graduated in 1995, and after a few post-doctorates, she moved to the scientific software industry in 1999. Since then, she has worked in technical and management positions at leading scientific software organizations.

She started her career at Accelrys (now Biovia) as a support scientist in the modeling and informatics fields and made it to Senior Product Manager for their complete cheminformatics product line (including data content and software).

In 2006 she moved to Cambridgesoft (now PerkinElmer), where she worked as the European Scientific Marketing Director. In 2011 she became the  VP of Strategic Partnerships, Sales, and Marketing at Dotmatics. In 2016 she moved to Collaborative Drug Discovery as Head of EMEA/AP/LATAM operations. She is also a member of the advisory board of several scientific software companies.  Mariana’s broad experience spans informatics, chemistry, physics, biology, and communication fields in the life sciences space.

Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) provides an intuitive software suite extensively used by creative biologists and chemists working in academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical settings.  Their flagship product, CDD Vault, enables researchers to intuitively organize and analyze both biological and chemical data, and to collaborate with partners through a straightforward web interface. CDD helps scientists register entities, track inventory, manage assay data, capture experiments, calculate Structure-Activity Relationships (SAR), and mine their data for drug candidates. CDD was founded in 2004 and presently serves thousands of researchers doing drug discovery all around the world.   Learn more at www.collaborativedrug.com
