Berlin-Brandenburg is one of the leading locations for life sciences in Europe. The Berlin biotech sector in particular has registered steady growth and high start-up dynamism. 80% of the more than 230 biotech companies work in biomedicine. They develop innovative therapeutics and diagnostics to treat cancer, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
