Excellent health for every citizen is the core objective of digital health. Given the complex nature of tackling current health challenges, a large variety of players and expertise is required. Following the Open Innovation approach, different tools and initiatives have been developed involving society, academia and industry. New community projects and organizations accelerate the transfer of knowledge and data. Novel discoveries and technological solutions are the result of this wealth of new health data. This panel shows that new concepts and partnerships are essential to really create an open innovation playing field and that the city of Berlin, at the heart of Europe, is an excellent starting point.
