What is TEF?
Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) are part of the implementation instruments outlined in the AI-Act and help providers to accelerate and de-risk market readiness of their solutions by offering support such as:
- Secure testing environments for AI-based products
- Technical and scientific support for validation
- Guidance on regulatory compliance, including the EU AI Act
- Access to experts and accredited laboratories
Four sectorial TEFs have been established under the Digital Europe program for EU SMEs and startups:
- Healthcare (TEF-Health)
- Smart Cities (Citcom.ai)
- Agriculture (Agrifood-TEF)
- Manufacturing (AI-Matters)
