Come with us to China

Start Alliance goes on a delegation trip with Berlin startups to Shanghai this year for a second time. From November 26th - 30th 2018 you will have the chance to explore the startup ecosystem of Shanghai and get a better insight into the Chinese market and its economic circumstances. Furthermore the program offers to meet many high-ranking representatives from the Chinese tech- and startup-scene.

Why should you apply?

Chinese startup scene has developed a lot in past years to become the second biggest startup economy by investments. In this year there is a chance of China overtaking the US in this aspect. "Chinese tech startups raised a whopping US$43.4 billion in funding in the first half of 2018, according to Tech in Asia’s database. That sum puts China on pace to absolutely smash its fundraising record this year. China’s tech startup industry has broken its own funding record for at least five consecutive years now, and 2018 now looks highly likely to continue that trend. Chinese tech companies raised US$58.8 billion in 2017. Amazingly, the H1 2018 number doesn’t include Ant Financial’s landmark US$14 billion funding round. The Alibaba spin-off is more of an established corporate entity than a startup, so it doesn’t get factored into our startup numbers. But if you did include it, it would push the total above US$57 billion, nearly as much as the 2017 figure."  -Tech in Asia

What's in it for you?

During this delegation trip the startups will have the opportunity to explore the possibility of expanding into the Chinese market while engaging with the local startup ecosystem and making connections with accelerators, VCs, startup CEOs and other high-ranking industry experts.
You will learn refreshing insights during panel discussions on how to start in China, you will watch awesome startup demos and get cool pitch opportunities.
