Nuvisan receives US$25 million grant to advance novel non-hormonal contraceptive drug discovery
The new three-year grant builds on a successful program, delivered over the past three years. It is intended to further expand the pipeline of non-hormonal contraceptive candidates, an area of significant unmet need in global health. The program will support the advancement of one lead project toward preclinical candidate nomination, the progression of additional hit-to-lead and earlier-stage projects, and the establishment of an advanced, in vitro assay platform to accelerate preclinical drug discovery in the field.
Leveraging Nuvisan’s integrated drug discovery track record and expertise in women’s health, as well as close collaborations with research teams within the Contraceptive Drug Accelerator (CoDA), the program will move forward assets and results generated during the initial funding period into the next stage of preclinical development.
