Doctolib accelerates in healthcare AI with a new planned investment from NVIDIA

Doctolib, Europe’s leading healthtech company, is building its AI solutions and models in Europe, for health professionals and patients. Doctolib is advancing this work with a planned minority investment from NVIDIA. The investment will support Doctolib’s continued acceleration in AI.

Doctolib provides health professionals with an all-in-one suite of AI agents to improve their daily life and help them deliver better care. Its consultation assistant, which has already documented more than 12 million patient visits, runs on a speech recognition model developed by its teams and specialised in medical vocabulary across several languages. Doctolib has also built AI assistants that relieve health professionals of many administrative tasks (coding, billing, secretarial work, document management), and is working on clinical decision support assistants, cobuilt with health professionals.

For patients, Doctolib will enhance its patient application with a personal AI health assistant that answers any health questions and guides them through every step of their care journey.

Today, 100 million patients and 580,000 health professionals use its services, and some 100 scientists, engineers and designers are building its AI models and solutions.

Accelerating Doctolib’s AI development

Doctolib has been using NVIDIA technologies for a year. NVIDIA’s investment will support the recruitment of AI talent and the development of Doctolib’s AI solutions. Doctolib will also have access to NVIDIA’s experts, and benefit from their support to train its models in Europe.

Strengthening Doctolib’s sovereign AI models in healthcare

Doctolib is developing its own AI models to the highest standard of medical accuracy. In the coming months, Doctolib will accelerate the development of AI models based on open models (open-weight and open-source) and invest even more in its European infrastructure.

Doctolib hosts all health data in the European Union and the UK, in line with each country’s hosting requirements and under its sole control. The same applies to its AI models.

Stanislas NIOX-CHATEAU, co-founder & CEO of Doctolib, said:

“We are convinced that AI can have a tremendous impact for patients and health professionals. To achieve this, we are building our own models and technologies, created with European health professionals and hospitals. NVIDIA’s investment will allow us to accelerate our AI hiring and our development. It builds on the work of our teams, who are making Doctolib one of Europe’s champions in healthcare AI.”
