AgeTechX is a one-day event in Berlin bringing together Europe’s most forward-thinking founders, investors, and industry leaders to explore the intersection of aging, technology, and longevity. From age-friendly housing and urban design, to mobility, financial planning, social participation, caregiving, and preventive health - all innovations matter in an ageing society.

 

Europe is undergoing a seismic demographic shift. In 2025, for the first time in history, the number of people over 65 surpassed those under 15. Our age pyramid has flipped — we are now a continent with more grandparents than grandchildren. And the systems around us aren't built for that. The ratio of working-age people to retirees has dropped from 4:1 to under 3:1 — and will continue to fall. This isn't a distant future problem. It's already being felt in hospitals, nursing homes, housing markets, and pension systems.

But this isn't just a crisis. It's also a generational opportunity. Europe's older population is a powerful economic engine. Seniors are eager to live longer, healthier, more connected lives. If we build for their needs, we unlock massive potential — economically, socially, and culturally.
