TEF Health

 

The Testing and Experimentation Facility for Health AI and Robotics (TEF-Health) is a pan-European initiative designed to support the safe, effective, and trustworthy deployment of artificial intelligence and robotics in healthcare. Launched in 2023 and backed by the European Commission and national funding agencies with a total budget of €60 million, TEF-Health brings together 52 partners from nine countries—including leading hospitals, universities, and testing institutions such as Charité, TÜV, and the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB).

TEF-Health offers companies access to world-class infrastructure for testing and validating AI-driven medical technologies in physical and virtual environments. This includes software for diagnostics and patient care, intelligent robotic systems used in surgery and nursing, as well as access to data. The goal: to accelerate certification processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate market access across Europe. 

 

 

Berlin Partner for Business and Technology 

The Economic development agency Berlin Partner supports the TEF-Health initiative by connecting local companies and research institutions with the European testing infrastructure.

Through targeted matchmaking, funding advice, and strategic networking, Berlin Partner helps businesses in Berlin and Brandenburg access TEF-Health services and integrate them into their development and certification processes.

This ensures that regional innovations in AI and robotics can scale more efficiently and reach European markets faster.
