Digital Health Summit Berlin

Often, the realization of digital health solutions fails due to technical, regulatory and health economic challenges. The state of Berlin thrives to reduce these impediments and supports the Berlin Digital Health stakeholders in the realization of their activities. Under the patronage of the Senator for Economics, Energy and Business, Ms. Ramona Pop, players in the healthcare industry have analyzed opportunities, impediments and solutions for the Digital Health Capital Berlin over the past six months. The results are summarized a white paper that was be presented to the press and professions on 21. November.

Additionally, the Digital Health Summit Berlin featured the prize-giving of first the "Digital Health Award Berlin", funded by the state initiative "Project Future". Nearly 40 Berlin startups applied with their digital solutions in the healthcare sector for the total of 50,000 euros in prize money. A jury of nineteen judges consisting of experts from the digital and health industry assessed all applications on the basis of the degree of innovation, the use of digital technologies, the medical relevance and the market potential of the submitted solution. The following three companies have been awarded with the “Digital Health Award”:

  • First Price - Audatic  (intelligent filter system for languague and backgrund noise for hearing aids).
  • Second price - ai4medicine (personalization of stroke treatment with the help of AI)
  • HygNova – (monitoring of hygienic behavior of hospital staff to protect patients from nosocomial infections)
