Funding is provided via a cooperation between the Stiftung Charité and the Einstein Foundation Berlin, and is endowed by the Private Excellence Initiative Johanna Quandt, with which the Stiftung Charité strengthens the life sciences and medicine in Berlin. The fellowship, amounting to 150.000 € per year, finances the researchers in Berlin as well as the travel expenses of the fellows between their home institution and their research group in Berlin.
