Attention young scientists! We’re looking for your scientific ideas: Short and sweet – in just 3 minutes, exciting and understandable!
Speed Lecture Award 2015: The task
The award will be given to the best short presentation (3 slides, 3 minutes) in English on the topic “New ideas and innovations in biotechnology and life sciences.” Whether scientific hypotheses, experiments, techniques or new processes are submitted – we look forward to your projects!
The healthcare industries cluster Berlin-Brandenburg – HealthCapital and vfa bio are awarding the BIONNALE Speed Lecture Award for the eighth time this year.
The application deadline for the Speed Lecture Award 2015
Applications from undergraduates, doctoral candidates, postdocs and other young scholars can be submitted until April 17, 2015. Simply send three PowerPoint slides in English and a one-page description of your project including a short introduction of yourself by email to Berlin Partner for Business and Technology GmbH, Jasmin Podufall, jasmin.podufall(at)berlin-partner.de.
A jury will select the best presentations submitted. The finalists will present their Speed Lectures (in 3 minutes!) at the XIIIth BIONNALE for biotechnology on May 27, 2015 at Ludwig-Erhard-Haus (Berlin) in front of a crowd of over 500 guests. The award will be moderated by the Scientific Director of German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE), Prof. Dr. Tilman Grune.
The prize money is 1,000 Euros for the winner, and 500 and 300 Euros respectively for the two runners-up.
Evaluation criteria are both originality and relevance of the idea as well as a professional and clear presentation of your project. (It should also be understandable for interested ‘laymen’!)
If the work of a research group is presented, then it needs to be authorized by the group leader.
The Speed Lecture Award was initiated by the healthcare industries cluster Berlin-Brandenburg – HealthCapital and vfa bio (Biotechnology association of research-based pharmaceutical companies) and is supported by both partners.
